Rose is a collaborative project between myself, Alex Higlett and The Cold Press for TENT design show in London. the book is being printed in black and white and will include a limited edition hand coloured screen print. These are original drawings on board.

The House of Illustration and The Folio Society ran a competition to illustrate The Outsider by Albert Camus. I won a runner up prize and the best thing is that I got to go to London and meet other brilliant artists and get a prize from none other than Quentin Blake ! ....Here are some images from which I selected my entry.

Work completed on a residency at The Cold Press in Norfolk. Two weeks spent exploring etching. I produced these two prints from 16 smaller plates. I am now working on smaller sequences to be printed by The Cold Press as a limited edition box set.

'Bare Threads' Artwork and EP cover

This is the EP cover that my illustrations (shown below) were chosen and used for. Graphic Designer Russel Hancock has done all the lovely layout, type and design, using bits of my illustrations. Paper Litho workshop at Spike Island Bristol

These images were produced on a workshop at Spike Island Printmakers in Bristol. The course was run by Justin Sanders and was all about gum arabic transfer and paper lithography. It was really interesting as there are many ways of extending and combining the process with other techniques. He showed us how you can use a photocopy and resist, or wax crayon drawings to produce really nice prints. You can also experiment with CMYK layers and the tonal contrast of the photocopies to produce layered images. Image 1 below shows a print using tissue collage as colour. Image 2 shows a two layered print using a dark photocopy layered over with a lighter copy. Image 3 shows a gouache wash incorporated below the print.

The book icon I designed for 'A book made of tears' by Dean Owens, published by Atlantic Press, Penryn, Cornwall. The icon project runs as a wordless sequence with invited artists designing a new image for each book published by Atlantic Press.

New collagraph prints. I have been experimenting with smaller plates, reproducing ideas from my sketchbook and trying to retain a sense of immediacy within the image.

This print consists of two plates printed alongside each other. I am exploring ideas of combining the print process with narrative sequence and multiple panels.

The second image is a print of a very small plate (8cm by 11cm) , depicting an imagined forest scene.
